Shanti!
JULAY good people!
We have safely returned from our Himalayan adventures and it is time for our first update—first in a series that is, as we have a lot to tell you and some really exciting new footage to share...
In a nutshell: our second mission to Zanskar was successful, although not bereft of surprises and a few rather unforeseen complications. More about this anon, but let it suffice to say for the present that we managed to bring warm winter clothing to over 100 children to their utmost joy and excitement, re-build one of the existing greenhouses and even fix the broken roof on one of the family houses.
We will go into all the detail in the following updates!

Delivering the goods to Lingshed
Presently we are working on the book, trying to incorporate new pictures and decide upon the final format. Ania Nalecka, an award-winning Polish photography book designer agreed to design our book cover as a contribution to the project. We are very excited about this (she is immensely talented!) and hope to show you first drafts in the coming weeks.
We have also scheduled the printing of the book for October and we're hoping that "Children of Zanskar" will be with you no later than early November. We promise it will be worth the prolonged wait—at the end of the day, it's all about the quality!

Approaching the valley of Lingshed

Children waiting at the entrance to Lingshed
New information is still flowing in from our friends in the valley which has experienced a period of heavy rains since we left it. There is damage to the school hall and the road, but we are hoping that we can still complete our help effort—with the aid of our dedicated allies in Ladakh (wonderful people as you will see!). But more about that later on.
Until then—JULAY dear Friends!
